What Practice Managers most often ask

Creating the best GP Practice Websites

Everything you need to know before signing up for a new GP Practice website

How can we get started with a new practice website?

The GenPra team work with each individual practice to create the perfect GP practice website, using information from an existing surgery site or practice leaflet as a starting point. Our Content Manager has over 30 years Practice Management experience in busy GP surgeries. So, you can be sure that we will include and update all the most essential elements for your Practice.

How long does it take to set up each website?

To minimise any hassle for the Practice our process is very streamlined and each surgery site begins from our standardised GP Surgery website framework. We can quickly set up a site with generic content and then work with you to add practice specific content. The surgery team can then review, feedback to us, edit and approve for publishing.

Are your GP surgery websites compatible with mobile devices?

We developed our website framework with a mobile first design approach. Most visitors to a GP Practice Website will be viewing the site on a mobile device. Therefore all our website content, including banners, buttons, text and forms are optimised to present perfectly on the latest mobile devices. Our websites work well and look great on phones, tablets, laptops and desktop computers.

Do you offer support?

Support is not an extra — it comes as standard with our annual subscription plans. Our dedicated, highly experienced team understand general practice and are ready to help you to support your patients. All our sites come pre-loaded with help and support videos and tutorials. We aim to resolve all support requests within 24hrs.

Will it work with my clinical system?

Your clinical supplier's online sign in and sign up forms are linked to from your new practice website for ordering repeat prescriptions, booking & cancelling appointments, viewing medical records and much more. Our system will link to EMIS Patient Access/PCS/LV, InPS Vision, System One and other systems.

Some things you should know about our GP Practice Websites

01.

Initial setup costs only £125

We take care of all setup and pre-load content from our standard template and your current website or practice leaflet. Hassle free for the Practice — requiring only that the Practice team review the site and feedback any changes before site approval and launch. First year subscription is £635.

02.

Security

All websites come with a dedicated SSL certificate as standard and are security monitored, giving you and your patients confidence and trust in your online services.

03.

The Practice Team can edit page & news post content or we can take care of all page edits

The Practice team can easily make changes to page content, upload documents, add images, insert standard forms, etc and editor access is provided to enable this. Most practices work in this way, however some are too busy to dabble in website editing and prefer us to take care of this. Change requests can be sent to us via our support ticketing system. Three hours of our time is included each year in our subscription plans for ongoing page edits and additions and additional editing time can be pre-booked at a rate of £60 per hour.

04.

Keep your current website address

Already have a website? You can keep your current website address when you move to GenPra. Transferring your domain name is simple to do and we'll provide you with all you need to make the change.

05.

Change layout and appearance

Our standard website framework is a starting point. It contains all the essential elements for any GP Practice website, and we customise to suit each individual practice to include an existing logo, images, preferred colour palette and integrated systems.

06.

Signposting is included with all sites to ensure patients receive the right care in the right place

Unnecessary demands on a busy GP Practice can be reduced significantly if patients are directed to the most appropriate health provider at the first point of contact. GenPra websites encourage patients to self-manage minor conditions, provide links to authoritative online health information and support organisations, and provide alternatives to making a GP appointment. The Practice team can then focus on patients with more complex medical needs.

07.

Online features to reduce the time and cost of processing patient requests

GenPra online forms allow patients to initiate and request services and information via the web instead of having to complete a paper form, talk to someone over the phone or visit the Practice in person. Receiving requests online instead of by phone allows staff time to respond to requests rather than having to deal with them “on demand”. Many online forms are available as standard and others can be added to reflect the working practices of each Practice.
